In the textile industry, large amounts of water are used for cleaning and flushing. This wastewater has to be cleaned from oil, color and chemicals. The most efficient treatment method for this type of wastewater is biological treatment. In case of high solids loading, a physical / chemical  pre-treatment step should be included. To oxidate the remaining colors in the wastewater, a chlorination step can be added to the process.
